Leadership Style
Participants will be introduced to the definition of leadership, take one of the several leadership style inventories such as the DISC or MBTI, identify personal strengths and limitations regarding their preferred leadership styles and understand how their behavioral tendencies affect others, and understand, respect, appreciate, and value individual differences. |

Diversity
Participants will tackle issues surrounding diversity including how it applies to individuals, organizations, and the community in which they live. Discussions will include the value of having a diverse membership. Everyone approaches diversity in their own way and participants will express their views, understandings, and misunderstandings in a safe and friendly atmosphere. |

Communication, Values & Ethics
This session is designed to illustrate the importance of effective communication and how it can lead to positive change. Activities will allow participants to develop an understanding of communication patterns, tendencies, and rituals by addressing both verbal and non-verbal communications. Participants will be introduced to the concept of value based actions and the importance of knowing and comunicating personal values. The workshop will highlight how personal values influence the group and participants will be introduced to the idea that knowing one's values will be the basis for leadership. Additionally, participants will define ethics and gain an understanding of personal ethics and making ethical decisions. |
